In fact no reference, from what I can see, of them even getting in the boats? They do make an appearance at St Foy though.

Yes, reading again, there is a reference to 'Indians' skirmishing, but no details in the orbat. Which makes me think they weren't there in numbers. No harm in putting a skirmishing unit in for effect :)

Mixing the militia with the regulars is why the French don't get 'first fire'. Although according to sources, the French weren't much for 'volley fire' anyway!

Steve
Steve Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07495063704818499780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2328566982075412654.post-73584592801102058552018-04-29T17:00:07.879+01:002018-04-29T17:00:07.879+01:00Nice looking game Steve. Not so sure I like the result as much though !

As to the forces used this site gives a "reasonable" picture, although there will always be arguments:

http://bataille.ccbn-nbc.gc.ca/en/bataille-des-plaines-d-abraham/les-deux-armees-face-a-face/les-forces-en-presence.php

Personally I think Wolfe had 6 companies of American Rangers with his force, but that he only took regulars up the heights.

As to the French, Montcalm mixed militia into his regular regiments. We all know how well that went. I can find references to "Indians" being present and if they were mixed with the regulars and militia I can see why they weren't mentioned further. Removing the advantages of local irregulars and making them fight like trained troops is not something that sounds too clever.

VinceVincehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03691369848035290908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2328566982075412654.post-5320734287914566822018-04-29T14:55:36.297+01:002018-04-29T14:55:36.297+01:00GLad to see this of report, many beautiful figures...GLad to see this of report, many beautiful figures here!Philhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08913029478686087197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2328566982075412654.post-77909646314323591312018-04-29T12:36:11.370+01:002018-04-29T12:36:11.370+01:00Cool looking game!Cool looking game!Ray Rousellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07352596392520905197noreply@blogger.com
