Battle of Cowpens - Muskets & Tomahawks

We had two games put on at the club this weekend, one of which was this lovely recreation of the Battle of Cowpens using Musket & Tomahawks

I didn't play in the game, but my eldest lad Tom took on the role of Bloody Ban Tarleton with his scary British Legion.

Muskets & Tomahawks is a great set of rules and works equally well with large or small scale set ups giving a fast fun game.

As you can see we now have a nice collection of figures held by club members that allow us to stage AWI and French - Indian Wars.

Tom told me that the American cannon were particularly effective in the game, and as you will see we had all arms represented.

Nice figures Steve.
Present - Fire!

I am told the fighting was bloody and the day went to the Americans

Thanks to Chas et al for putting on a lovely game, with much fun had by all involved.

  1. Nice photos JJ. Just like being there.

Good to be able to put the old Perry's figures on the table again.

Glad to see you have taught Tom well. I saw him roll eight dice & then pick the sixes out of ten dice that happened to be lying on the table. North Devon drop next lesson ?

    1. Thanks mate, I thought they came out well. Someone on TMP mentioned how the "present -fire" picture reminded him of one of the old Gilder pictures.
I'm pleased to see my eldest was learning how to cope in the company of the veterans of the club. It's a case of sink or swim when your dealing with past masters of the "North Devon Drop"
