British fleet DavidGerman battle fleet Ian
American fleet MikeItalian battle fleet Matt
We set up 12 fleets in total, and the player’s drew tokens to decide which fleets they were about to launch. The Axis side gain the 1st initiative which was strongly contested at the start of each phase with the Allies trying their best to lose so they could go second.
The Italian fleet came out all guns blazing the British fleet looked doomed HMS Nelson taking damage. The American sent out a screen of destroyers which was quickly pick of by the pocket battleship sorry cruiser Graf Spee and Deutschland at the far end the French fleet made a hasty return to there home port as they spotted the Bismarck heading towards them.
Over the next few turns the British fleet with help from USS Alaska cruiser although being American it looks like a battleship which caused a bit of a disappointment for the Axis side set about destroying the Italian fleet.
The Allies had a good cheer as a Italian Bomber tried to press home an attack and rolled a one so sending it crashing into the sea. The German cruisers were making light work of what was left of the American fleet.
While the French and German fleets were fighting their own battle, theFrench withdrawing slowly trying to use their advantage with aircraft, unfortunately for the French German determination kept one of their destroyers afloat after apparently being sunk twice.
Eventually clearing away the German support ships the French advance, the opposing battle ship were going toe to toe sending most of the ships to the bottom just leaving a crippled Bismarck and Bearn still afloat refusing the option of attempting to torpedo the Bismark. Playing the 'what if' the Bearn carried out the attack, success the Bismark was sunk!
The American fleet joined the Italian fleet on the bottom while what was left of their air craft made it back to their home islands while the German cruisers came after HMS Nelson it looked over for the battleship but the cruisers gave up there range 4 advantage by rushing in to go toe to toe with HMS Nelson which with help from her two destroyers they sent the two German cruisers to the bottom.
This was the last act of this epic battle leaving just a couple of ships afloat.
